Your logo. Our mud.

Back hands-on engineering education at the University of Ottawa, and get sustained visibility with future engineers and technical professionals.

Why partner with us

Four ways in

Visibility on campus and at competition, plus direct access to the students carrying out the work.

01

Brand exposure

Logo placement on the vehicle, team apparel, paddock banner and website; recognition on Instagram and LinkedIn, including a sponsor announcement; and visibility at vehicle unveilings, campus events and competitions.

02

Talent & recruitment

Access to engineering students with demonstrated experience in cross-functional technical teams, workshop and lab environments, and long-term project delivery, including a portfolio of members and their work.

03

Technical partnership

In-kind support of any value: machining, materials, components, software, fabrication and testing. Sponsors can be recognized as the named supporter of a subsystem and work directly with the students responsible for it.

04

Community & education

Sponsorship directly funds practical engineering education in Ottawa. Sponsors are invited to technical workshops, design reviews and networking events with the wider uOttawa engineering community.

~$40K

Typical annual program budget

The program runs on a one-year vehicle cycle, so each season's budget designs, builds and races a brand-new car. Sponsor support lets the team make sound engineering decisions without compromising on safety or reliability.

In-kind sponsorship

Materials, components, services (including machining, welding, heat treatment, coating, printing and apparel) and tools are valued at fair market value and matched to the corresponding tier. Machining time and materials are especially valuable to the team. Software provided under academic licensing is recognized separately as a Software Partner.

The Baja Talent Package

A portfolio of team members and the engineering work they've done on the vehicle, for employers in engineering, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, defence, robotics and consulting. Provided to every sponsor once per semester, at all tiers. Participation is voluntary: members choose whether their information and work are shared.

  1. Profile

You specify the profile you're after, e.g. second- and third-year mechanical students with SolidWorks, CNC and vehicle design experience.

  2. Portfolio

We compile members matching that profile, documenting the subsystems they designed, analysed and manufactured.

  3. Delivery

You receive resumes, CAD work and project documentation, with each member's subsystem experience, graduation year and availability.
